- Presenting as the Central feautre of the Facade a Fac-simile of the Federal Hall as that edifice was completed by Major L'Enfant in 1789 with was the portico where HIS EXCELLENCY GEN. GEORGE WASHINGTON took the oath as First President of theis Republic. In this building was then estalished by the Saint Tammanys or Colombian Order, the First Museum in the City of New York~ In the background is found the COURT OF NEW AMSTERDAM with the orginal STADT HUYS restored as it was in 1654, the first seat of our city government the Communalty of the Manhattans subsequently New Amsterdam.
