- This manuscript, in the hand of Björn Gunnlaugsson (1788–1876), is a translation from German. Gunnlaugsson was a teacher, astronomer, mathematician, surveyor, and prolific cartographer. The manuscript appears to have been a conveniently portable record of strategies and a document of selected historic games.
