Long Lamai
Long Beruang
Penan youth
portrait
- Description:
- The man pictured in the photograph is named Mew Ju'an and he came from an aristocratic family, as his feathered hat (a symbol of status in the Penan community) indicates. Mew Ju'an's cousin is now the chief of Long Beruang, his place of origin. His son now lives in Long Lamai, although he himself has passed away.
