- Description:
- A photograph showing Penan transporting damar collected from the Pelayo tree (in the dipterocarpacaea family), which is found in the highlands and must be transported to Tamu over a one- to three-week journey using paths that avoid steep uphill routes for a smoother journey. Interviewees describe this as an activity done with one's family, although only men would go to search for damar past a certain point.
