- This picture shows the general setting around the location of the short longhouse (Structure 1) at the Townley-Read site during winter. The snow-covered mounds in the middle of the image are soil temporarily removed from the house area during excavation. The picture shows that the low-lying setting did not seem to have been chosen with defense in mind.
